OJB WITH AZEEZAT QUEENOFLOVE & SEYI ALLEN
Music producer, OJB, is back on his feet and raring to go. Following his return from India where he had a successful kidney transplant, the act will today, at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Ikeja, during the 8am Mass perform a thanksgiving service.

In a telephone chat with Superbassnaija, a happy OJB confirmed his plans and thanked Nigerians for standing stoically behind me: “I want to thank Nigerians for being there for me. God has been great throughout this ordeal. But for His Grace I wouldn’t have survived and so I’m having a thanks giving service on January 19 (today) at St Leo’s Catholic Church, to thank God for his abundant mercies.”

Expected to be with him are close friends and family including the entire entertainment industry.

MUSIC INDUSTRY WAR NO VICTOR NO VANQUISHED-OKOROJI

Chairman, Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON), Tony Okoroji, has described the recent pronouncement by the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) on the COSON v BON/IBAN conflict as historic in the development of the creative industry in Nigeria declaring that there was no victor or vanquished.

Okoroji made this declaration while speaking to journalists at the Benin Airport, the Edo State capital, on arrival to commission the COSON Comprehensive Copyright Licensing Programme in the ancient city last week.

Commenting on the NBC Pronouncement he said: “I know that some might see it as victory for one group or another but in this process, I do not think in terms of victors or vanquished. I am interested in the progress of the Nigerian nation. I believe that the full engagement of the NBC and NCC in ensuring the proper enforcement of our copyright legislations is a momentous development which will have tremendous impact on the Nigerian economy.”

Asked if he was not bitter over the several months of personal attack on radio and television directed at him during the COSON fight with BON and IBAN, Okoroji said: “We cannot afford to dwell too much on the personal sacrifice we have to make. We must concentrate on the future possibilities for our country and the work we still need to do. I look forward to working with our colleagues in BON, IBAN, NBC and NCC to resolve all the issues within the time frame set out by the NBC.

“Respect for intellectual property rights will return our broadcasting stations to being the hotbeds for the creation of very profitable, marketable and exportable programming instead of just being sellers of air time. I know that people have resisted these developments because of fear, fear of tomorrow. There is nothing to fear. Nothing can be more tragic than our remaining trapped in our bad habits because of fear,” Okoroji added.

APPROVE POLYGAMY IN AMERICA AND WE’LL ACCEPT GAY RIGHTS IN NIGERIA-ALABAMA

Comedian, Alibaba, has added his voice to those defending Nigeria’s anti gay laws which prescribe 14 years jail term for offenders. The rib cracker took to his handle on twitter last week and bared his mind in a number of tweets that generated numerous reactions.

“Approve polygamy in America and we can allow your gay rights here. That way, real brothers can help the sisters the gay brothers abandon,” the rib cracker had tweeted adding in pidgin, “I be Nigerian. Gay nor be good thing for my country. Abi you sef you be Nigerian?

According to him, it was a funny thing that some people championing the fight for these gays have wives and kids!! “It’s like pregnant women advising ladies to remove wombs.

Choosing to be gay and still wanting to adopt kids is like eating your cake and having it. How baboon go work monkey go wan come chop,” he queried in pidgin in another tweet.
However he had tweeted that he had nothing against gays: “Got nothing against the talents and the creativity gay clan. I think Ellen DeGeneres and Elton john are talented. I quarrel with that not. “

His tweets also generated enemies as some people had stopped following him and he lamented thus: “I got a tweet from someone saying he has stopped following me because I wrote that I support the anti gay law; I’m so pained. I wan cry self here!”
